BIOGRAPHY

Prof. Prais is the director of the Graub Center for Cystic Fibrosis and the Lung Institute at the Schneider Pediatric Center in Israel. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and completed his pediatric residency and subspecialty in pediatric pulmonology at the Schneider Pediatric Center in Israel. In 2011, he underwent training at the Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital in Stanford, California.
Prof. Prais’ main research and clinical interests focus on lung diseases in children, particularly wheezing and asthma, bronchiolitis and RSV, chronic lung diseases of prematurity, congenital disorders, primary ciliary dyskinesia, and cystic fibrosis.
He studies the impact of prematurity and RSV infections on future respiratory morbidity. He participates in international forums such as RSVnet and RSVgold, investigating morbidity due to bronchiolitis and future treatments against RSV.
As director of the Graub Center for Cystic Fibrosis, Dr. Prais is an expert in treating the disease and actively participates in international research on developing breakthrough drugs for CF. He is a former member of the executive committee of the European Cystic Fibrosis Society’s clinical trial network and the organizing committee of the annual European Cystic Fibrosis Conference.
Professor Prais is an associate professor in pediatrics at Tel Aviv University; he has published over 80 scientific articles and engages in clinical research. He is a sought-after lecturer and supervisor for students and interns in pediatric pulmonary medicine.
In 2018, he was appointed as the director of the Lung Institute at the Schneider Pediatric Center, a leading tertiary center for lung diseases in children in Israel.
