Professor Saglani qualified in medicine at the University of Leicester and completed specialist training in paediatric respiratory medicine. She has since received an MRC New Investigator Award and an NIHR Career Development Fellowship, and currently leads an NIHR-funded clinical trial evaluating novel treatments for childhood severe asthma.
Professor Saglani’s clinical and research interests include the management of pre-school wheeze and difficult asthma, predictors of progression to school-age asthma, and the identification of novel therapies for severe childhood asthma. She has established a translational research programme integrating pre-clinical models, paediatric airway samples, and interventional clinical trials. In 2025, she was elected Fellow of the European Respiratory Society (FERS) and Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences (FMedSci).
