Marcello Scotta, MD, PhD is a pediatric infectious diseases specialist with a Master’s degree and PhD in Pediatrics. He is a Professor, Researcher, and Head of the Department of Pediatrics at the School of Medicine of the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. He also serves as a pediatric infectious disease specialist and researcher at Hospital Moinhos de Vento in Porto Alegre.
Dr. Scotta is a member of the Scientific Council of the Department of Infectious Diseases of the Brazilian Society of Pediatrics. He has extensive clinical expertise in pediatric infectology and hospital infection control. His research interests include the impact of immunizations, vaccine hesitancy, the epidemiology of respiratory viruses, and tuberculosis, with a focus on translating research findings into improved clinical and public health outcomes.
