Prof. Iso Oloyede is a paediatrician and clinical researcher with over 20 years of clinical experience. She specialises in the influence of the environment on childhood respiratory diseases and advocates for healthy environments for children from preconception to adulthood. She had her primary medical education from the University of Calabar (UNICAL). She is a fellow of the West African College of Physicians (WACP) and the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN) in the Faculty of Paediatrics. She holds a master’s in research (MRes) degree from the University of Manchester, UK, and a PhD from Imperial College London She holds certifications in economic evaluation in global health, leadership and management in health, policy development, and advocacy for global health from the University of Washington, USA.
She is a recipient of various awards including the prestigious Commonwealth Scholarship as a doctoral researcher at Imperial College, London, the Young Investigators Award of the Congress of International Paediatric Pulmonologists, Equality, Inclusivity and Diversity Barry Kay Award from the British Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology Conference and the outstanding Flash talk presentation award by the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology Conference.
She conducts public sensitisation on radio and television on matters concerning Child health and is involved in various medical outreach programs. She is a member of the Paediatric Association of Nigeria, the Nigerian Thoracic Society, and the Nigerian Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases. She is a Professor of Paediatrics and an Honorary Consultant Paediatrician at the University of Uyo/University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, Nigeria.
