BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Meir Mei-Zahav is a pediatric pulmonologist and recently, he was appointed as the Director of the Pulmonary Institute at the Schneider Children’s Medical Center, a leading tertiary center in Israel. He also serves as Director of the Israeli National Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia Center.

Until recently, Dr. Mei-Zahav was the Head of the Israeli Pediatric Pulmonology Association (2020–2026), where he plays a key role in shaping national guidelines and health policy in respiratory medicine in Israel. He graduated magna cum laude from Gray Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences at Tel Aviv University and completed a fellowship in pediatric pulmonology at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.

In addition to his national leadership roles, Dr. Mei-Zahav holds several positions within the European Cystic Fibrosis Society and previously served on the Executive Committee of the European Cystic Fibrosis Registry.

His work integrates clinical care with research in pediatric lung diseases, including wheezing and asthma, chronic lung conditions-particularly cystic fibrosis, pulmonary vascular malformations, cardiopulmonary exercise testing and functional respiratory disorders.

Dr. Mei-Zahav has authored over 100 scientific publications and is actively involved in clinical research. He is also a highly regarded lecturer and dedicated mentor to medical students and residents in pediatric pulmonology.
