Dr. Sarabon Tahura is Associate Professor of Pediatric Respiratory Medicine at the largest Pediatric academic Institute of Bangladesh “Bangladesh Shishu Hospital & Institute” and consultant at Square Hospitals Ltd. Dhaka, Bangladesh. She is the 1st Pediatric Interventional Pulmonologist in Bangladesh, performing all basic & advanced bronchoscopic procedures in children and neonate. Her field of special interest is flexible bronchoscopy guided advanced interventions. In Bangladesh, she has pioneered several procedures including flexible bronchoscopy guided endobronchial tumor debulking, balloon bronchoplasty, endobronchial electro surgery, cryotherapy, APC in children.
Dr. Sarabon Tahura is actively involved in the development of different pediatric and pediatric pulmonology curriculum, guidelines, courses, training program & bronchoscopy workshops as faculty and resource person in Bangladesh. She authored the book ‘Pediatric Bronchoscopy- learn the basic’ and several book chapters on pediatric bronchoscopy. A good number of articles have been published under her name in different national and international medical journals. She has been awarded in different international seminars.
Dr. Sarabon Tahura is frequently invited as international faculty to give keynote presentations at international meetings, conferences and bronchoscopy workshops in different countries across the world. She was awarded the ‘Bangladesh Women Empowerment Award-2022’ for her outstanding contributions to health and social work.
